Hey Gang! I am back after the surgery and you are not going to believe it! I am already walking up and down my stairs and around my house - WITHOUT CRUTCHES! Oh yeah, baby - my surgeon is a rock star! And all my years of working out have really paid off. The physical therapist came by today to assess my progress and was pretty damn impressed. He doesn't think I'm going to need much in-home work at all.
My mailman had hip replacement surgery recently and when I walked out yesterday to greet him, he said - "I thought you were having hip surgery!" I said "I did, baby!" He said "You're already walking better than I do and I had mine 10 weeks ago!"
I think it was the giant Reese's.
Thanks to all of you for your good wishes and support!! I'll be back to blogging soon!!!

I knew you'd have an easy time of it. I'm not sure if you know this, but the more chocolate (espesh with peanut butter in it) you eat after surgery, the quicker the recovery!

Oh YEAH BABY!!! This is such great news - I am so over the moon happy for you!!! I did crutches for about 6 weeks, but I had 20+ years of degenerative muscles issues to contend with.
So...how does it feel to walk...PAIN FREE?!?!?!?
Jonny - I IKNEW it! Thanks for verifying!! : )
Kris - thanks for everything!! My Doc is the man - I can't believe how mobile I am!! It feels great - and I know it will feel better everyday!!
That's great to hear. But where are the pics of dissected hospital food?
Seriously, it is good to hear that you're doing well.

This really is such an exciting time! Everyday will bring more strength, more range of motion and more confidence.
And all of it will be pain free. Repeat that - PAIN FREE.
Woo Hoo and Yee Ha!!!
Yea-hoo!!! I'm so happy for you.
Way to go, Denise. I was thinking of you last week and hope that you get better every day. It's amazing that you are up and at it so soon and so vigorously!
